Creating a Huminaux OC

Here is a little guide if you're interested in making your own Huminaux OC!

If you've read the section about the Huminaux, you'd know that some of the most important things about the look of a Huminaux would be their animal, age, ability and what subspecies they are. Most informations about the Huminaux are in the main sections so i'd suggest you to read some parts again for clarification.
But let's get into more detail shall we?

What animal are they?

Since animals play a giant role in the way a Huminaux looks and acts, let's start with them.
The Huminaux can be any type of animal (mammals, reptiles, birds, invertebrates and amphibians). The animal is inherited by one of their parents but is individual in looks to them, they can have small changes like additional limbs, horns, tails or wings. They don't have to be 100% accurate to the animal you want them to be but it should still be recognisable what they should represent. Their skincolor is usually a natural color, like ours, but they can have certain hue to them based on their animal, but there won't be a neon green humanoid Huminaux without a lot of animal specific featurea!
For reference you can take Ed's beast form. His animal is a raven but he has an additional set of legs and wings, a long tail and different talons but you can still tell it's a raven creature by certain features unique to the actual animal!Their animal should also play a certain role in how they act!You can choose an animal that you'd think fits their aesthetic and personality, so you can either start from scratch and create a completely new OC where you build upon the animals typical behaviour, strengths, weaknesses and character or work with one of your own and look for a suited animal for them! Maybe you already know of an animal that you associate with your already existing character! :DTheir actual animal form can be based on our myths and legends, remember, the humans in their universe based these off of the Huminaux they saw! Just incorporate their animal into the design you're basing it off of. Take a dragon for example, you can choose from many different reptiles like a bearded dragon or a snake, think of different iterations like eastern and western dragons for example. The beast form can have (additional) wings, more horns etc. Literally go wild with it!

How old are they?

The next thing that heavily influences their overall design is their age, as mentioned in the description. Their family tree does also play a role in their appearance. The older a Huminaux is, the more animal like they are, the more offspring one family tree has, the more humanoid they will be in our current time!
Taking Ed again as an example. Appearance wise, not a lot of animal features are left, his overall design is humanoid. Though his animal still influences some more minor aspects, like the inside of his mouth is black like a ravens. If he had been born 15 thousand years earlier he would've looked like his AU version!
You can go wild with the amount of animal features you want them to have, just keep a general idea of their age and family tree in mind.

What's their mutation (category/type)?

There aren't too many rules on what their mutation can be, be creative and think of something you'd like and think that's interesting! Their mutation can range from an elemental ability, like water, to something more specific, like light. How does it work? Well, that's entirely up to you! Think about how often they would use or need it, how does it manifest itself and how much do they train to keep up their strength. Keep in mind that the power of the mutation doesn't just come by having it, the Huminaux has to train to become stronger and to keep it up. There also aren't any "rare" ones, it's usually very evenly distributed.Though, some mutations are only found in either Huminuit or Huminour and cannot be inherited by the other. For example, a Huminour cannot inherit a shadow or void mutations and a Huminuit cannot inherit the light mutation.

Are they a Huminuit or Huminour?

I detailed the differences between the subspecies in the main information text so this is mainly for their overall design! Would you like your character to have short and round ears or longer and pointier ones? This is entirely up to your preference!
Something not to forget is, that the Huminaux generally have more pronounced canines! Some may have slightly different teeth depending on their animal.

Though, all of this is only for the people who want to go more in depth with their Huminaux OC, if you want to create a character, just for fun please go for it! :D
I'm personally just interested in detailed characters and stories but you can have all the fun you want!
If you really want to make a detailed OC i'd again suggest you to go back to the overall informations because i've written it in greater detail and it would probably help you more!
If you still need help please don't be afraid to ask!
Please don't forget to tag me and add the hashtag #RDs_Huminaux if you decide to create one so i can see it. :D
